I often see people traveling with either their dog or cat unrestrained in their car or truck. It strikes me that most of us will not drive with our children unrestrained, but we think nothing of allowing our pets to run freely in our vehicles. If we feel it is important to restrain our children and ourselves, then why not our pets?
I was taught a valuable lessons quite a few years ago when I was traveling with my cat. The cat would climb on the seats, on my back, try to sit on the front led or the back ledge; never on the back seat. That would be too easy! Try driving when the cat is all over you! Once, I was driving on the Interstate with the cat on the back ledge when I was in an accident. The first thing I realized, after taking a shark of glass out of my cheek, was that the cat had "flown" into the front. Luckily, she was okay. I strongly recommend you purchase a restraint mechanism for your cat or dog when traveling. It will be safer for you and the pet.
